The Red Barn Lapel is located in Lapel, Indiana.
Our beautiful property is placed in the triangle of Old State Road 132, State Road 13, and W 300 S.

The beautiful and spacious quonset barn is 3000 square feet of beautiful wood and rustic metal. Hanging twinkle lights, large barn wood tables, wood covered walls, and full glass doors make this grand space intimately elegant!

Wood salvaged during renovation allowed us to create 8 large barn wood tables that will seat 8-10 people comfortably. These beautiful tables are included in each barn rental along with 50 white lifetime chairs, 6 fold out white lifetime tables, and 4 Bourbon Barrel trash cans.

"The Pad"
Flowers spill out of their boxes on all corners of the outside entertaining area adjacent to the Barn. Swaying twinkle lights light up the area where guests sit in comfortable Adirondack chairs and become friends.

On the property sits our Quonset Event Barn, our Red Wood Storage Barn, and our outdoor entertaining space that we call The Pad!
Parking for large events happens between our entrance and Red Wood Storage Barn.
Parking for small events can happen between the Quonset Event Barn and Red Wood Storage Barn or in the same location as a large event!

Welcome to Our Story
Welcome to The Red Barn Lapel
It has been a dream of ours, for many years, to turn the Quonset barn, that we played in as kids,
into a space that could be used and loved by the Lapel community and the people that happen upon the barn through invitation.
We are Heather O’Connor and Holly Elliott!
Sisters, friends and co-owners of The Red Barn Lapel.
Heather is married to Shawn. They have 5 children, Killian, Keegan, Kase, Kenzie, and Kilah. Heather currently works for the Lapel School system.
Holly is married to Chris. They have one daughter, Emma. Holly is a registered nurse.
We have a “Rich” family history in Lapel:
Trevor and Emma Jean Whetsel, our grandparents, owned this property for 50+ Years and ran a very small rare junk/and antique sales out of their small red barn in the back yard of their home. We decided to keep the name that our grandparents had for their business. So is born The Red Barn Lapel.
Tom Whetsel, our father and the land owner, grew up living on State Road 13, and graduated from Lapel High School in 1969. He built the original horse stalls that were located inside the barn. He and our mother, Carol, both continue to be supporters for the town of Lapel and of The Red Barn Lapel.
This beautiful barn has gifted us with many memories from our childhood. In 2019 we began the clean out and renovation of the barn to make it what it is today. With the help of our parents, husbands, and children, we have put our blood, sweat, and tears into this barn and it has greatly blessed us with new memories and inspired traditions for years to come.
We desire to be a beautiful place that supports our community and encourages memory making.
